|File layout||a PDF file contains a single page with a trim box and cutting marks, overfill a minimum of 3 mm|
|File name||in accordance with the Roto Smeets guidelines (the file name plays an important role in the creation of the print matrix)|
|Colour profile||in accordance with the print technology and the circulation paper|
|Submission||PDF1.3 files, preferably online in accordance with the method agreed upon with the production location; colour proofs by courier.|

The specifications guarantee reliable production from photographer to printer. This is effected by defining practice-based requirements for the various graphics features. Effective from 2010, the GWG specifications migrated from version 1v3 to 1v4, once again based on the PDF/X-1a, the ISO-15930 specification for PDF1.3 graphics applications.
